10 Steps To Paradise Perfection: How To Be Amazing Humans At Lost Paradise 2017

Lost Paradise is all about community, celebrating love and life, as well as taking care of each other while having a blindingly good time in one of Australia’s most beautiful secret gems, Glenworth Valley. And in this spirit, we want to make sure all of you create an experience to remember and end to 2017 in a space full of positive vibes!

2018 has never looked so bright!

So how do we all get into the Lost Paradise spirit?

It’s all about being conscious, considerate & caring toward fellow Paradisians, and respecting the stunning site we get to share to bring in the New Year. As soon as your enter our grounds, you are immediately party of the Lost Paradise family, because for a few short days, everyone will be living, breathing, dancing & enjoying themselves all under the same stars!

But if you want some specific actions, here are a few ideas: you could share your water with a new friend, strike up a conversation with a complete stranger, buy the person behind you in line at the bar a drink, flash your smile at everyone you see, tell someone you’ve never met you think they’re beautiful, help keep our natural stunning playground by picking up litter!

And remember, grab your ticket if you still don’t have yours in hand. After all, you can’t come without one.

1. PROMISE US THIS PARADISE, YOU WILL TAKE CARE OF MOTHER NATURE

Plain and simple, littering is wrong. We have recycling and rubbish bins provided on site for a reason, so why throw away your trash on the ground when you could throw it in its intended place? Our campsites are our bedrooms and our dance floors are our lounge rooms & you don’t want to be sleeping or dancing in in rubbish! Be clean & respectful of the land we are on, and leave without a trace.

2. PROMISE US THIS PARADISE, YOU WILL NOT BE A STRANGER & LOVE THY NEIGHBOUR

‘We make the world real through actions that open the heart!’ Festivals are about making new friends…even if the friendship only lasts three days and then you never see them ever again. Be the neighbour that you would want next door to you, and we’ll create a nice ripple effect of friendly peeps at the event! Introduce yourself on day one in your campsite and get the good vibes and good times flowing by being polite and friendly at all times!

3. PROMISE US THIS PARADISE, YOU WILL COME PREPARED

Lost Paradise goes for three or four days, depending on what ticket you’ve bought. Regardless of what option, bring enough water, food, bedding and shade to keep you safe and comfortable. And if you want a lil’ luxury – check out our glamping packages. Some extras that will make for a better camping experience: Hydralyte, fruit juice, fresh fruit, floating devices for the stream, a gazebo for extra shade, fairy lights, incense, flags, tarps/rugs for the ground, camping chairs, blow up mattress, pillow, and headphones or earplugs if you wanna cut down on any excess noise when heading to sleep.

4. PROMISE US THIS PARADISE, YOU WILL CARE FOR FELLOW CAMPERS

“If we all took the time to listen and love each other, this world would be a better place.” This is exactly how we look at Lost Paradise; a better place! If you see someone having a rough time for whatever reason, try to lend a helping hand. Flag down security, medical, or someone else who can help.

5. PROMISE US THIS PARADISE, YOU WILL RESPECT ALL INDIVIDUALS

Don’t forget to pack that open-minded, positive attitude for Lost Paradise my friends, because it’s a world like no other! We thrive on a community of utter respect and kindness for one another, and we take this Lost Paradise mantra very seriously. Respect is a due regard for the feelings, wishes, or rights of others, always keep this in the front of your mind during the festival. We’re all about inclusivity and celebrating our differences.

6. PROMISE US THIS PARADISE, YOU WILL HAVE THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE

At the end of the day, we want you to create amazing memories at Lost Paradise, ones you take home with you and ones that last a lifetime. Let this new years be a time which you spend with incredible humans, dress up, laugh, smile, dance ’til you drop and ENJOY all the special moments & creations that Lost Paradise has on offer!

7. PROMISE US THIS PARADISE, YOU WILL DRESS SPECTACULARLY

New Year’s Eve at Lost Paradise has always been about unleashing your creativity in fancy dress, and we urge you to bring your fancy dress A Game again this year. Your dress should be a reflection of the vibrant soul within you, a piece of wearable art to wow our other Paradisians, or simply an avenue for you to express yourself in a way you normally don’t get the chance to do any other time of the year.

8. PROMISE US THIS PARADISE, YOU WILL TRY SOMETHING NEW

The end of 2017 is a time for change, and an opportunity to emerge anew in 2018. To begin this journey, we’d like all of you to do something you’ve not done previously at Lost Paradise, that’ll change you for the better. Whatever it is, whether that’s making a new friend, attending one of our workshops (learn to hula-hoop anyone?) we ask you to make the most of the array of activities we have on offer, and get out of your comfort zone!

9. PROMISE US THIS PARADISE, YOU WILL EXPERIENCE NATURE

To say the Glenworth Valley is one of Australia’s most stunning spots for an event, is nothing short of an understatement. And if you don’t take some time to experience it in all its glory, you’ll be missing out on one key part of what makes Lost Paradise so special. So turn off your phone, take a nap in the grass under the shade of a tree, swim in the creek, or even try to learn the language of the beautiful horses on site. Trust us, you won’t regret it.

10. PROMISE US THIS PARADISE, YOU WILL BRING ONLY THE BEST VERSION OF YOURSELF

This is a chance for you to leave all your worldy problems behind, and escape somewhere that nothing outside of our picturesque playground in the Glenworth Valley matters. With this in mind, free yourself of any mental baggage, and bring only the best version of who you are to the event, and celebrate that person the way you should every single day.

We can’t wait to see you there!

P.S. – Remember, the last third release tickets are available now. When they’re gone, we’re heading to final release.

QUOTES & REVIEWS

  • “Lost Paradise was like a big backyard party that just spiralled out of control; in the best way possible. A beautiful setting, a lovely cool river to swim in (or to hold an unofficial mini rave, as the case turned out), an entire corner of the grounds devoted to yoga and meditation and relaxation, and barely a bright neon flashing alcohol sponsorship logo to be seen, it carried the casual and laidback vibe of a much smaller festival — while still attracting some of the country’s most exciting and beloved live acts.”

    – HUFFINGTON POST

“Lost Paradise is an experience that extends far beyond anything that could be promoted, advertised, or even expected. Quirky, eccentric, and so utterly unique, the adventure Losties holds for one is no same adventure for another. The festival itself is split into various sections that altogether provide an immersive experience for individual, couple and even family. Not only does the festival offer a chance to see internationally loved artists along with Aussie grown favourites, but includes mind, body and soul activities for the enjoyment and healing of all attendees; young and old.”

    – AUS MUSIC SCENE
  • “Lost Paradise is the nuanced, well-rounded, quiet achiever of Aussie festivals; big enough to deliver on the great acts, but small enough to still have an air of intimacy about it.”

    – MTV TRAVEL

“Fancy welcoming in New Year amongst a bunch of friendly, live music and yoga loving revellers? Then Lost Paradise is for you. Over three days an 8000-strong crowd of families, wellness warriors, nature-lovers and hipsters descend on NSW’s picturesque Glenworth Valley to experience a festival like no other.”

    – NEWS.COM.AU
  • “This is Lost Paradise’s third year and while that’s quite young in festival years, they keep proving they mean business. Their ethos extends past music too and the festival — held in Glenworth Valley (just an hour north of Sydney) — is built around a mix of art, yoga, performance and food. Because there’s nothing like a little yoga to dust off a festival hangover.”

    – CONCRETE PLAYGROUND

“There are music festivals, then there is the mind-body-soul experience that is Lost Paradise.”

    – TIME OUT
  • “If you’re the adventurous type, being amongst the spectacular Glenworth Valley is heaven! Have a kayak… experience the spiritual realm in the Shambala tent. Throughout the festival there is always something great going on…”

    -Shantan Wantan Ichiban

“I had such a good time at Lost Paradise! It’s one of the coolest festivals I’ve been to. I loved playing the Lost Disco stage, the atmosphere was wicked, the decoration was class and the lit up signs the crowd brought with them, added to it too.

After my set I went on the dancefloor with a few of my mates and saw the new year in listening to Jackmaster & Jasper James, was a memorable new year!”
