10 Reasons Lost Paradise Will Be Your Best New Years Ever
10 REASONS LOST PARADISE WILL BE
YOUR BEST NEW YEARS EVER
We at Lost Paradise believe a new year symbolises a new beginning and the year that has been IS something to celebrate. Between a jaw-dropping location, a sensational music lineup and a long list of unique experiences to share with your nearest and dearest, Lost Paradise is one of the most special music festivals on the face of the planet. Here’s 10 reasons why Lost Paradise will be your best New Years yet.
10 – THE STUNNING LOCATION
Getting back to nature is a key part of the unique Lost Paradise experience. You could head to a festival in some field or stadium somewhere, or you could party away the end of 2018 with us in the stunning surrounds of Glenworth Valley, surrounded by the best Australia’s nature has to offer. Escaping city-life and starting 2019 surrounded by natural beauty is a sure-fire way to experience the best New Years yet.
9 – FEASTING WITH FRIENDS
Do you have a vegan friend, a mate that loves spicy asian food, another who can only eat gluten free, whilst you yourself prefer a good ole’ fashion burger & fries? Breaking bread with friends is a beautiful (and yummy) way to bond, but instead of limiting your choice to one restaurant this New Years, why not join us at Lost Paradise where our delicious food & drink options are endless! For a glimpse at some of the options available in Lost Village click here.
8 – FANCY DRESS FUN
The end of the year is all about letting loose, and of course dressing yourself up in a rambunctious, ridiculous, or radiant costume for New Year’s Eve. Last year we saw your Alter Egos come out to play and boy were we impressed with the creativity and originality of our Paradisian’s costumes. Stay tuned for the announcement of our Fancy Dress theme this year.
7 – GLAMP YOUR WAY INTO THE NEW YEAR
You might have been cramped up in your house or office most of the year, but at Lost Paradise, you have ZERO excuse to be indoors to end the year. There’s nothing more like an escape than camping in an amazing location, getting back to nature, and waking up with the sounds of birds in your ears, and warm sun on your face. Even better is booking a glamping tent, let Lost Paradise take care of the ins-and-outs of your accommodation and start the new year with a touch of luxury. On a budget? We also have some amazing eco-camping options available.
6 – THE EPIC MUSIC LINEUP
Music is the universal language and does an amazing job of connecting us all to one another. Where better to say farewell 2018 and begin 2019 listening to amazing tunes, than under the starry night sky of Glenworth Valley. To help you do that, we’ve prepped one of the most stellar lineups you could imagine for our fifth edition this year, including the likes of M.I.A, The Kooks, Tash Sultana, PNAU, Bicep, and many, many, many more, all of which you can discover here.
5 – CONNECT WITH CULTURE
Getting caught up with work, friends and family obligations, means so many of us don’t get the chance seek out and experience some of the incredible culture our sunburnt country has to offer. At Lost Paradise we like to create the opportunity for Paradisian’s to reconnect with our national history and celebrate being a multicultural nation. Whether it’s attending our very special Opening Ceremony or whether you stop into our Boardi space to learn from Aboriginal Elders past and present, Lost Paradise is your chance to get that cultural fix and start the new year with understanding and appreciation in your hearts.
4 – EXPAND YOUR MIND AND FEED YOUR SOUL
If you’re craving a more wholesome start to the New Year, Lost Paradise has got you covered. With an eclectic range of meditation, yoga, talks & workshops available within our Shambhala Fields area, you can finish the year off whilst learning, growing and connecting with the world around you, and with fellow Paradisians. Stop in and get a massage in our Healing Arts space to get you all nice and limber for your next dance-off on the d-floor, and don’t forget to check in with one of our amazing psychics to give you a glimpse of your year ahead.
3 – MY MUMS DISCO
Maybe you’re not too phased about big acts and main stages, and your idea of the best New Years is a house party, singing your lungs out to Chumbawumba with your closest mates by your side. Never fear – My Mums Disco is here. A fan favourite from the 2017 festival, Mum resides within the festival to offer you guilty pleasures galore, and more! Get to know more about our Theme Camps here
2 – DANCE ‘TIL THE WEE HOURS AT THE LOST DISCO STAGE
Our triangle of dance has been one of the hallmarks of Lost Paradise since our start back in 2014, where you’ll find all of our hardest-hitting dance acts. 2018 is no different. We’re so excited to welcome some of the best international and local electronic acts to our beloved Lost Disco stage yet again this year. You won’t be able to resist the urge to kick off 2019 with a good ole’ fashion rave.
1 – MAKE NEW FRIENDS THAT LAST A LIFETIME
Whether it’s your friendly campsite neighbours, your new partner in an Acro-Yoga class, the guy standing next to you during a drumming workshop, or those girls who share their water with you during a sweaty Paradise Club dancefloor sesh; you’re bound to come home with more friends than you had when you arrived at Glenworth Valley. What makes Lost Paradise the best New Years experience ever – is it’s Paradisians. We love escaping the ‘real-world’ and creating our own with you every year, and we’re so excited to welcome you all to the valley and do it all again this December.
Lots of love. Team LP x
QUOTES & REVIEWS
“I had such an incredible time at Lost Paradise – it was a wonderfully unique experience. Thanks again for the opportunity to attend Lost Paradise – it was one of the best festivals I’ve attended in Australia and a fabulous start to the year.”
Sophie Dellagiacoma – Australian Traveller Magazine
“I had such a good time at Lost Paradise! It’s one of the coolest festivals I’ve been to. I loved playing the Lost Disco stage, the atmosphere was wicked, the decoration was class and the lit up signs the crowd brought with them, added to it too.
After my set I went on the dancefloor with a few of my mates and saw the new year in listening to Jackmaster & Jasper James, was a memorable new year!”
– Patrick Topping
“Lost Paradise was a totally unique festival, nothing like it in Australia. Thank you to everyone who made it such a beautiful place.”
– RÜFUS DU SOL
“The thing that really makes this festival shine is without a doubt the sheer variety of acts in that world class lineup. Dense, ambitious, and not afraid to throw in a few curve balls, Lost Paradise is much more than your average doof, but a playground for all, no matter what your age or musical alignment.”
“After Boomtown in England this is definitely the second festival with the craziest stuff”
“One of the most magical spots we’ve ever played in Oz and a night complimented by generous staff and hospitality that really looked after us. A show we’ll never forget”
– STICKY FINGERS
“This is one of the best and most organised events I’ve attended (and I’ve been to a lot!) and whoever curated the masterclasses did a brilliant job of taking us out of our comfort zones. “
“….I love to dance, dress up boho-style and get out of the big smoke once in a while. Lost Paradise was all this and more – right on our doorstep.”
– Lisa Messenger, Editor-In-Chief, Collective Hub
“Re-awaken your sense of wanderlust and adventure with the festival’s secret hideaways, glittering late night discos, and inspirational art and performance”
No1 NYE 2017/8 Event in the World – Buzzfeed
“As 2018 became 2019, I found myself feeling sorry for all my Sydney pals couped up in clubs and bad house parties. But also, not really. When you’ve got a festival like Lost Paradise waiting for you just down the road, why on earth would you spend your New Year’s anywhere else?”
– Hhhappy – Bill Robinson
“A picturesque setting in Glenworth Valley forest, a flowing river that hugged the venue and camping grounds, and one of the most characterfully constructed settings of any festival this side of the Pacific, Lost Paradise curates its New Year celebrations in the same way it curates its lineup: with weird and wonderful indulgence.”
